Enviro 200 MMCs for Winchester

Good Evening all, Liam here, for a post on the publicly released NEW Stagecoach Enviro 200 MMCs for Winchester.

You may remember my post back in April, when the order for such vehicles emerged. These vehicles were delivered earlier in October, and were released to the public in a press shoot last Tuesday in Winchester City Centre.

All 17 buses have been delivered, and the last few are currently being painted into the new 'Kings City' livery. This livery consists of a pale beige curved pattern at the front and 3/4 of the way down the sides of the bus, contrasted against a pansy purple rear. Finished off with various other decals such as the Kings City route map, as can be seen on the below photos, courtesy of Dave Elliott.

The new 'Kings City' advertising on the bus is part of a new marketing tactic by Stagecoach's Winchester depot to join together route's Spring, 1, 3, 4 and 5 in Winchester City Centre.

These buses will now take over the existing buses serving route's Spring, 1, 3, 4 and 5 in Winchester City Centre (Bar 47312, which has also been repainted into the Kings City livery). The existing Enviro 200s working these routes (36014 - 36027) are to be cascaded to Portsmouth & Aldershot depots. 36015 (GX07 FXC) has already been spotted in Aldershot working Route 4 & 5's. 36022 (402 DCD) has been spotted in Portsmouth.

As well as these Enviro 200 MMCs, Winchester's current Optare Solo 47312 (GX06 DYP) has been repainted into the Kings City livery, for use on the Route 4, where tight corners are prevalent in the Highcliffe area of the route.

So, for today, that's it from me! I will keep you updated on any changes to the buses or routes in Winchester, and of course, across the whole of the South of England. A special credit to Dave Elliott for sourcing the photographs used in this blog post.
